Michelangelo’s Pieta Cremation Urn – Engravable

A beautiful replica of the Renaissance masterpiece, the Michelangelo’s Pieta cremation urn is made from cold cast resin. The manufacturing process allows us to create a stunningly detailed sculptural cremation urn that is attractive and durable. This urn may be displayed in your home, inside a niche or columbarium (size permitting), or used for in-ground burial. If this urn will be buried, the use of a burial container to keep the urn from damage is highly recommended.  This famous work of art depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother, Mary, after the Crucifixion. The Pieta is considered one of Michelangelo’s greatest works, carved from a single piece of polished and refined Carrara marble. It is currently housed in St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City. To open this urn, a small panel is removed on the bottom of the urn by removing the include secure screws. The ashes will go inside the urn by way of this panel. It is always recommended that the cremains remain inside of a sealed bag. This will prevent any spillage should an accident occur. This urn will hold the cremains of a loved one who had a healthy weight of 260 lbs or less. If you’re unsure about the size, read our article on understanding urn sizes or our complete guide on choosing the right urn for your loved one. Optional Engraved Plaque Michelangelo’s Pieta cremation urn offers an optional customized plaque, which can be engraved in either block or script font. The plaque may include optional artwork, as well as up to 4 lines of text, with 65 characters per line. An optional poem plaque may also be added to the back of the urn, if desired. Please see artwork options above and poem choices below. The plaque will ship with the urn but arrive unattached. We will provide permanent adhesive to allow you to place the plaque on the urn as you see fit. Some prefer the plaque on the front, some prefer the back. This allows you freedom to arrange it just as you wish.
